MUST SEE! Classified government forecast shows Fukushima contamination spreading in Pacific over 5 years

As if this was not bad enough, Japan Reacts to Fukushima Crisis By Banning Journalism.

Japan will likely pass a new anti-whistleblowing law in an attempt to silence criticism of Tepco and the government:

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s government is planning a state secrets act that critics say could curtail public access to information on a wide range of issues, including tensions with China and the Fukushima nuclear crisis.

The new law would dramatically expand the definition of official secrets and journalists convicted under it could be jailed for up to five years.

The media had essentially stopped covering the nuclear meltdown in Fukushima up until a few weeks ago. Reports began surfacing about the current situation that has unraveled since the accident in 2011. There is a radioactive plume as a direct result of the power plant leaking particles into the Pacific Ocean. The plume is so immense that it will actually reach the coast of the U.S. as early as 2014.

As of August 2013, the severity rating was raised to Level 3 on an international scale of radio-logical releases by the Nuclear Regulation Authority. The spokesman of the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) stated “300 tons of highly radioactive water has leaked from a stainless steel tank on the territory of the Fukushima nuclear power plant.”

While checking a tank which has a capacity to hold 1,000 tons of radioactive water, the workers noted that there was only 700 tons inside. Even worse news is that TEPCO did not equip that tank with a water gauge which means that there was no way to accurately ascertain the amount of water inside nor the time period to which the leak started. – (Japan Times)

200,000 people consent to go to Mars and never return…

More than 200,000 people from 140 countries have applied to go to Mars and never return, the group behind an ambitious venture to colonize the inhospitable red planet said Monday.

mission to mars

Bas Lansdorp, a Dutch engineer and entrepreneur, plans to establish a permanent base on Mars in a mission he hopes will take off in 2022 if he can find the necessary $6 billion.

One in four of the 202,586 applicants for the one-way trip are Americans, said Mars One, the non-profit group which initiated its hunt for “would-be Mars settlers” in April.

There are also hopefuls from India (10 percent), China (six percent) and Brazil (five percent), among other countries, it said.

By 2015, Mars One expects put up to 10 four-member teams through intensive training, with the first of those teams reaching to Mars in 2023 on a high-risk journey that would take seven months to complete.

If they survive the trip, the human Martians will have to deal with minus 55 degrees C (minus 67 F) temperatures in a desert-like atmosphere that consists mainly of carbon dioxide.

They’ll also have to consent to being observed back on Earth full-time as stars of a reality TV show that would help cover expenses.

The project has the support of Gerard ‘t Hooft, the Dutch joint winner of the Nobel prize for physics in 1999.

“The long term aim is to have a lasting colony,” said ‘t Hooft in New York in April. “This expansion will not be easy. How soon that will be accomplished is anyone’s guess.”

Space agencies including NASA have expressed skepticism about the viability of Lansdorp’s plan, saying the technology to establish a human colony on Mars does not exist.

Mars One says on its website that the mission is a decade-long endeavor, with funding intended to come from the global audience of an interactive, televised broadcast of every aspect of the mission.

So far, there have only been unmanned missions to Mars undertaken by NASA, which has signaled its intent to send astronauts there within 20 years.

Colorado town deciding to grant applications for drone-hunting permits

DENVER – Voters in one small Colorado town won’t decide until next month whether to issue hunting licenses to shoot down drones, but hundreds of marksmen are lining up for permits to fell such aircraft in the unlikely event any appear in local skies.

A resident of the small ranching and farming community of Deer Trail, 55 miles east of Denver, floated the whimsical idea of issuing permits as a way to protest the proliferation of unmanned aircraft used for commercial or government purposes, said town clerk Kim Oldfield.

Town trustees decided last month to put the question to voters, Oldfield said, adding that there are vocal opponents to the idea among the 600 residents of the town, which boasts that it held the world’s first rodeo in 1869.

Oldfield said the town has been inundated with applications for the $25 permits, including from all over the country – and from as far away as Britain and Canada.

“I stopped counting when it hit 985,” she said.

Proponents envision a quirky festival surrounding the notion, with a skeet shooting contest using small model airplanes instead of clay targets. Oldfield said that and other events could attract tourists and infuse cash into town coffers.

“Our intention is really not to allow people to shoot things out of the sky,” she said.

Oldfield said she was setting aside the uncashed checks until voters decide the issue. If the town’s 380 registered voters reject the measure, the town will return the payments.

When the idea made headlines this summer, the Federal Aviation Administration took a dim view of firing at aircraft, even if it was just a publicity stunt.

In a statement, the agency warned against shooting at drones, noting that a downed aircraft could damage property or injure people on the ground, and could cause midair collisions.

“Shooting at an unmanned aircraft could result in criminal or civil liability, just as would firing at a manned airplane,” the statement said.

But Deer Trail resident Phillip Steel, who proposed the license idea, said he was serious about protesting what he calls “a surveillance society.” He is selling his own mock licenses online and said about 150 people have purchased them.

If residents reject the ballot measure, Steel said he will continue selling his permits.

“They can’t vote me out,” he said.

Must See! Another Shiny Object Spotted on Mars – Curiosity Feb, 6

There are yet more mysteries to solve on the surface of Mars.

Curiosity has been sending high-res images since landing inside the Red Planet’s huge Gale Crater in August 2012.

Curiosity’s primary mission is to determine if the Gale Crater area has ever been capable of supporting microbial life.

There have been a few pictures that seem to hint at a larger discovery yet to be revealed…

These next series of images stood out to me as I panned through them, an almost faint symbol seemed to be noticeable. When asked for comment, JPL referred me to the website for updates and announcements.

Da Vinci’s self-portrait in poor condition, damaged beyond repair

Researchers say a self-portrait by the legendary Italian painter and architect, Leonardo da Vinci, kept in a vault in the city of Turin, is in poor condition and probably beyond repair.

The invaluable drawing which depicts the Italian Renaissance artist in his 60s was exposed to sunlight after being framed for an exhibition in 1929.

The exposure has caused the artwork to develop red blotches, stains and fungi, which have caused its deterioration to the point that any attempt to restore the painting may destroy the masterpiece.

“I think we need to think very hard before we do anything to this very familiar face,” said Jane Roberts, Royal Librarian and Curator of the Print Room at Windsor Castle.

The Royal Library of Turin, which serves as a restoration institute, and scientists are still deliberating to reach a decision on whether to attempt the restoration.

Done with red chalk on paper, the small drawing was shown in a rare exhibition on 2011 as part of celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.

This is while experts say from now on the masterpiece will be put on display for short periods of time and with a limited number of visitors.

Home Owner Pulls Gun On Utility Worker to Stop Smart Meter Instillation (Video)

You don’t have to be a tinfoil-hat-wearing paranoiac to be worried that the electromagnetic radiation from modern wireless devices may be harmful to your health.

But are the “smart meters” being installed by utilities throughout the state frying homeowners’ brains, as many consumers and even municipal governments fear?

Breaking: 37 communities vote to end artificial water fluoridation in 2011

Breaking: 37 communities vote to end artificial water fluoridation in 2011. Is your community on that list? With all the toxins in today’s drinking water it should be. ~ Health Freedoms

The year 2011 just might go down in history as the year that initiated the end of artificial water fluoridation. Nearly three million people living in 37 different North America communities will no longer be forcibly medicated with synthetic fluoride chemicals via their public water supplies, thanks to a groundswell of dedicated citizens and city council members that fought popular myths about fluoride with scientific truth — and won!

According to data compiled by the Fluoride Action Network (FAN), a group devoted to exposing the truth about the toxicity and dangers of fluoride chemicals, 37 cities and communities across the US and Canada officially ended their water fluoridation programs in 2011. From small towns like Tellico, Tenn., which has just 900 residents, to large cities like Calgary, Alberta, with over 1.3 million residents, the truth about fluoride is spreading like wildfire.

For far too long, water utilities mostly in the United States and in some parts of Canada have been adding toxic fluoride chemicals to drinking water supplies because they were told that doing so would help prevent tooth decay. It never really mattered to most of them that no scientific studies had ever proven that ingesting fluoride chemicals is safe, or that it helped improve oral health.

In fact, most of these utilities probably just went along with what they were told, and popular consensus seemed to agree at the time that lacing tap water with an unregulated drug, which just so happens to be a toxic waste byproduct of the aluminum and phosphate mining industries, was a good idea.

But a lot more information about fluoride has surfaced in recent years that contradicts what people believed about it 50 years ago. And with so many modern illnesses and deficiencies that are now attributed to fluoride exposure, removing the chemical from water supplies is a no-brainer for many who recognize that mass medication with an unapproved drug is not the answer to the world’s dental problems.

Witnessing these many victories against fluoride throughout the past year has been inspiring. But what is even better is the prospect that twice as many, or even three times as many — or more — could follow suit in 2012! The ball is rolling to end the pseudoscientific practice of water fluoridation, and the number of communities that still fluoridate their water supplies are falling. Will your community be next?

England: Children could be removed from their Family for being fat

Although it sounds like the story of the twilight zone, it looks like in England, it is illegal to be fat.

Four obese children are on the verge of being permanently removed from their families by social workers after their parents failed to bring their weight under control.

In the first case of its kind, a mother and father are now faced with what they called “intolerable” likely never see them again.

Three daughters, aged 11, seven and one-five-year-old son and would “encourage non-contact” or accepted.

Anyway, just hope the family will be reunited if children try to follow their parents when they become adults.

The couple, who have been married for almost 20 years and has not been declared to protect the identity of their children are “draconian ‘ultimatum three years ago, as reported in The Mail on Sunday.

Warned that children should be thin or be accommodated, the family spent two years living in a council house, funded by “Big Brother” in which they were continuously monitored and the food we eat is controlled.

But although they undergo intensive supervision, social workers do not impose rules on what foods children should eat, and apparently there was little or no improvement.

News of the decision to remove them was broken in two, from Dundee, on Tuesday. Critics call it disgraceful violation of human rights and a chilling example of the power of the state to interfere in family life.

In an emotional interview, 42-year-old mother said: “We can not be perfect parents, but we love our children with all my heart. To face the future where we will never see them again is unbearable.

“They picked us because of our size to start and they just were not released, despite the fact that we have done everything to lose weight and meet their demands. We’re going to fight to the bitter end. It even feel like prisoners have more human rights than we do. ”

They have not committed any crime and are not accused of cruelty or violence. Their lawyer, Joe Miles said that there was “nothing sinister lurking in the background” and accused social workers, not to act in the best interests of the family.

“Dundee Social Services Department appear to have locked horns with this couple and will not quit,” he said, adding that the monitoring of projects caused more problems than it solves. “Parents are constantly being accused of bad parenting and live under a microscope.

They are older three children are all confused and angry at the ruling.

Speaking through tears, said 15-year-old daughter: “Social workers should hang their heads in shame. The weight of a person is their own business and only we can do nothing about it, not them. My parents are good people and they love us all. Four young do not know what is about to happen to them. ”

Social workers in early 2008 became known to the family after a son accused his father hit him on the forehead. In fact, he fell and hit his head on a heat sink – a fact he later admitted. However, the statement opens the door to the investigation of obesity.

While the couple have acknowledged their lawyer called “lower class” parenting issues that it deserves support, they were aghast when the issue of weight is retained as a major source of concern.

Report of the Council at the time, said: “With the exception of one name], children are overweight. Advice is given in terms of diet, but there is no improvement. Appointments with a dietician have been missed.”

At this point, then their 12-year-old son weighs 16 stone, 11-year-old sister weighed 12 stone and three-year-old sister weighed four stone. It is not known how four small children weigh now.

They were ordered to send their children to dance lessons and soccer and were given three months time to remove weight. , When it is not, children are placed in foster homes, but was allowed to visit their parents.

After a few objected to this procedure, the Council agreed to move them in a one bedroom apartment in a supported unit, managed by the project ‘Dundee Families. They insisted that the couple living with three of their children at a time.

During the meal, a social worker, stood in the room taking notes. Doctors have expressed concerns that the children put on weight when they spent some time with your parents, say they are vehemently denied.

The couple and their children must also adhere to a strict curfew of 23:00. This includes the “OC” and fill in the sheet by an employee who lived on the spot.

Although the weight of children is a major concern, other claims are included in the report. It showed that social workers were worried when the youngest child is found unattended crawl. Parents say they were never far from the apartment and had no stairs.

They also, “he tries to put dangerous things in their mouths.’s Family say it is natural in young children, and she was never successful.

Social workers are even more worried when she crawled through the contents of an overturned ashtray – “unfortunate one-off incident”, say parents. All concerns were rejected by the legal team of the family, as problems with “low class”.

Understandably, the father broke under the pressure of so carefully observed in January this year, and moved to the Council for an apartment elsewhere in the city.

In the next few months, the mother violated the lunch and dinner meals observations of his own recognition of “several” occasions, while taking children to see their father.

She never broke a personal 23 o’clock curfew, but once allowed seven-year-old daughter to stay with his father’s flat after she fell asleep. She did not want to worry and says the child has two parents, not one “and in” good hands “.

These violations have led staff to process failure and said his mother, was asked to leave the unit in April this year. She moved into the apartment of her husband, but children are handed over to foster parents.

Her lawyer said he plans to use independent experts to prove that children want to live with their parents and were damaged by the intervention of social workers. He added: “We may eventually turn to human rights laws.”

His father, aged 56, said: “We tried very hard to do everything asked of us. My wife cooked healthy foods such as homemade spaghetti bolognese and minced meat and potatoes, we cut snacks and only allows the children sweets Saturday. But nothing we’ve ever had enough.

“The pressure of living in the family unit will have a broken one. We were treated like children and cut off from the outside world. Is unacceptable to have a social worker stands and watch you eat. I want other families to know what can happen once social workers participate. We will fight them until the end to get our beloved children. ”

Estimated 26 million British adults will be overweight by 2030, with levels of obesity, running an all time high among children. Official statistics show those who are overweight, 50 percent spend more time in hospital, further put pressure on the NHS.

There, Fry, honorary chairman of the foundation for the growth of children, said: “This is a disgrace. These parents are clearly trying to comply. They are, if you like, play the game of” Dundee City Council, and yet they are still losing their children. ”

Dundee City Council said: “The Council always acting in the best interest of the children with their welfare and safety in mind.” source: dailymail uk

WOW! Army tests James Bond style tank that is ‘invisible’ (video)

British Ministry of Defence drew worldwide media attention in October 2007 when he announced that the successful tank invisible to the human eye. Although the British government is keeping information to himself, he issued the basic idea behind the technology.

The tank is covered in silicon, effectively turning the vehicle in a highly reflective film screen. Video cameras placed on the container in real-time images of the environment and projectors display images on the surface of the tank. For observers of secret trials conducted by the British Army in October 2007, the only thing visible was the images of the terrain projected onto the tank.

British plans for military tanks ready for battle by 2012, but this technique can be short-lived due to some shortcomings. Cameras or projectors can fail, and from different angles, the tank can be seen. This is somewhat cumbersome and difficult way to make an object invisible (HowStuffWorks discussed this technique in another article on invisibility cloaks). The use of cameras and projectors smoke and mirrors creates an optical illusion style, and a leading researcher in the British test was not fully satisfied with the technology.

“The next stage is to make the tank invisible without [cameras and projectors],” physicist Sir John Pendry says Daily Mail “, which is complex and complicated, but possible.”

In addition to Pendry universities around the world and the United States military, exploring the possibilities of actually making an object invisible using next generation technology to disguise that fact manipulate light. U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) – the Pentagon’s research wing has received the green light for funding of 15 million dollars over three years to investigate urban obfuscants. This project is an ambitious attempt to create a protective shield for use by soldiers in urban combat situations. Shield to be opened quickly in tight spaces and protect soldiers from enemy fire will be a great asset, but DARPA does not stop there. This shield will also be able to make the invisible soldier under him, and it would be healing, which means that if the bullet fails to get through the shield material can be repaired.

Chances are, DARPA will be successful in its goal – eventually. Physics are already in place to make possible, and when the technology to create the parts become available over the next decade, these devices leave to cover the field of science fiction and enter reality.

But how is this possible? How to manipulate light? Everything is based on some very small particles. Read the next page for metamaterials.
