Breaking: How the government reads your emails without a warrant

Worried that the US government might be able to read your emails? Don’t be — they already can! The American Civil Liberties Union is asking the feds to come clean on why — and what — they do with the personal correspondence of its citizens.

The ACLU has filed request under the US Freedom of Information Act in hopes of learning more about the powers the government has granted itself to snoop through the emails, texts and instant messages of Americans. Being able to browse through correspondence without a warrant is a power that the government has had for ages, but with the Internet making sending mail as easy as a click of a button, the ACLU says it is about time the feds fix their current policies.

The organization writes in a recent press release that they are going after the FBI, US Justice Department, IRS and US Attorneys Offices around the country with the intent of figuring out why the government is so interested in sticking its nose in the inboxes of millions of Americans. They have sent FOIA requests to all of those agencies in which they ask “about the government’s policies, procedures and practices for accessing the content of private electronic communications.”

In the long run, the ACLU hopes for a law change.

The ACLU note that, since the 1870s, the government has been able to leer at the personal letters between Americans as long as they are older than 180 days, all without a warrant. Such legislation is also applied to electronic communication, but with ever expanding technology allowing Internet users to essentially keep communiqué on file for an eternity, this allows for not just impressively large “unread message” counts on inboxes across America — it also gives the government at even large cache of correspondence to call their own — without a warrant.

“In an era when everyone stores their email forever, this rule makes no sense and puts a great deal of personal information at risk,” writes the ACLU. “Unfortunately, the government continues to take advantage of an outdated law to read Americans’ private electronic communications without a warrant.”

The ACLU adds that the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit wrote in 2010 that “By obtaining access to someone’s email, government agents gain the ability to peer deeply into his activities,” acknowledging the privacy violations could be brought up by government intervention in emails and texts. In the meantime, however, the government at large hasn’t addressed the issue.

“The appeals court got it right, but its decision is only binding in a few states, and it’s not clear that the government follows its guidance in much of the country,” adds the ACLU. “Once we hear back from the government, we will share what we learn.”

WOW! Japanese researchers invent “speech-jamming” gun

Japanese researchers have invented a hand-held speech-jamming gadget that can painlessly force people into silence.

Kazutaka Kurihara of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology and Koji Tsukada of Ochanomizu University developed the portable ‘SpeechJammer’ gun that can silence people more than 30 meters (100 feet) away.

In their research paper, the inventors said, “We have to establish and obey rules for proper turn-taking when speaking. However, some people tend to lengthen their turns or deliberately interrupt other people when it is their turn in order to establish their presence rather than achieve more fruitful discussions. Furthermore, some people tend to jeer at speakers to invalidate their speech.”

The device records its targets’ speech through a direction-sensitive microphone and then fires their words back at them with a 0.2-second delay, which affects the brain’s cognitive processes and causes speakers to stutter before silencing them completely.

“In general, human speech is jammed by giving back to the speakers their own utterances at a delay of a few hundred milliseconds. This effect can disturb people without any physical discomfort, and disappears immediately by stopping speaking,” they explained.

They also found that the device works better on people who were reading aloud than engaged in spontaneous speech and it cannot stop people making meaningless sounds, such as ‘ahhh,’ that are uttered over a long time.

Breaking: 37 communities vote to end artificial water fluoridation in 2011

Breaking: 37 communities vote to end artificial water fluoridation in 2011. Is your community on that list? With all the toxins in today’s drinking water it should be. ~ Health Freedoms

The year 2011 just might go down in history as the year that initiated the end of artificial water fluoridation. Nearly three million people living in 37 different North America communities will no longer be forcibly medicated with synthetic fluoride chemicals via their public water supplies, thanks to a groundswell of dedicated citizens and city council members that fought popular myths about fluoride with scientific truth — and won!

According to data compiled by the Fluoride Action Network (FAN), a group devoted to exposing the truth about the toxicity and dangers of fluoride chemicals, 37 cities and communities across the US and Canada officially ended their water fluoridation programs in 2011. From small towns like Tellico, Tenn., which has just 900 residents, to large cities like Calgary, Alberta, with over 1.3 million residents, the truth about fluoride is spreading like wildfire.

For far too long, water utilities mostly in the United States and in some parts of Canada have been adding toxic fluoride chemicals to drinking water supplies because they were told that doing so would help prevent tooth decay. It never really mattered to most of them that no scientific studies had ever proven that ingesting fluoride chemicals is safe, or that it helped improve oral health.

In fact, most of these utilities probably just went along with what they were told, and popular consensus seemed to agree at the time that lacing tap water with an unregulated drug, which just so happens to be a toxic waste byproduct of the aluminum and phosphate mining industries, was a good idea.

But a lot more information about fluoride has surfaced in recent years that contradicts what people believed about it 50 years ago. And with so many modern illnesses and deficiencies that are now attributed to fluoride exposure, removing the chemical from water supplies is a no-brainer for many who recognize that mass medication with an unapproved drug is not the answer to the world’s dental problems.

Witnessing these many victories against fluoride throughout the past year has been inspiring. But what is even better is the prospect that twice as many, or even three times as many — or more — could follow suit in 2012! The ball is rolling to end the pseudoscientific practice of water fluoridation, and the number of communities that still fluoridate their water supplies are falling. Will your community be next?

ChemTrails – A Threat to All Who Wish to Breath The Free Air of Liberty? – Listener’s Feedback

On January 27th, Rob Simon hosted Coast to Coast AM. The subject was chemtrails and the response was huge.
Pictures, stories and inforation flooded in after the show. The following is some of the listener submission regarding the program.

” I live in the Mt. Shasta, Ca. area and have been
painfully aware of chemtrails overhead for the last 8 yrs. But since
2012 the chemtrails have intensified to almost non-stop and many days
the atmosphere is a whitish silverery haze and the mountains are
almost dimmed out.”

“I thought it was the
best show on chemtrails I’ve ever heard. ”

Video Sent in by another listener:

“was listening to your show on chemtrails and had some insight. The spraying of the air is a chemical solution of a seeding compound and an antimicrobial/antifungal. The chemicals often used is silver Iodide, sulphur dioxide suspended in dry ice, Triclosan. The idea is to produce clouds that will disperse the antimicrobial/antifungal solutions for the purpose of surpressing the spead of early crude atempts of biological wepons. The high sulpher and silver content causes toxic effects on the environment. The early and consant use of the Triciosan as a surpressant has caused the attempts at bacterial and fungi to become more resistant to elimination (Aug. 6, 1998 issue of nature).

During WWII several bases around the US were designated as sites for the first tests and development of biological wepons. These labs were not structured or designed with future problems in mind. One of the first sites was Davis-Monthan Air Force base in Tucson, AZ. Scientists took samples of San Joaquine Valley Fever and tried to make it a weapon. This mold is was mostly found in California in the early 1920’s has become very hearty in the Phoenix and Tucson areas, as opposed to southern New Mexico. An area that was cosidered a haven for respritory problems has become one of the worst places for this mold. ”

Whoever controls the food controls the people. (government)

Create the illness and offer the cure. (pharmaceutical)

Government and Pharmaceutical: The FDA is controlled and funded by the pharmaceutical industry. A look at past employees is a big eye opener. They now do NO testing. We are the test tube. They will not order GMO’s to be labeled. They will not allow cloned meat to be labeled.

Considering that the Johnson and Johnson empire, which owns at 250 other pharmaceutical companies, has their foundation setting their people up in various high positions (past and present), plus looking at the grants they dole out to ‘fit their agendas’, their ties with other industries, I’d say we are ‘cooked’ at all levels.”

Breaking: Mystery illness gives 12 girls at same school Tourette’s-like symptoms of tics and verbal outbursts (video)

Mystery illness gives 12 girls at same school Tourette’s-like symptoms of tics and verbal outbursts

Doctors and school administrators will not disclose cause of illness
Parents worried and not satisfied with how issue is being handled
Two students at another school in Missouri faint after mystery smell reported

A mysterious disorder which exhibits symptoms similar to Tourette’s syndrome has affected twelve female students at the same high school.

Administrators said on Wednesday night that all of the students affected at LeRoy High School, in New York, have been diagnosed and are being treated but they would not disclose exactly what they think the cause is.

The students are said to all be suffering from verbal outbursts and involuntary twitches.

Tourette’s syndrome affects the body’s brain and nervous system by causing tics – repeated, uncontrollable movements or involuntary vocal sounds.

School administrators have insisted it is not a case of mass hysteria and that none of the girls are making the illness or symptoms up.

On Wednesday night the school held a forum for concerned parents. About 150 people attended, demanding to know what was wrong with the students.

Dr Greg Young, with the NYS Department of Health, said: ‘I can assure you these children have all been seen by professionals that have come up with answers and they are all being treated and they’re actually doing pretty well.’

He revealed that tics like this can be caused by a number of factors such as genetics, head trauma, drugs for ADHD and OCD and antihistamines.

Through tests over the last few months, they have been able to rule out a number of environmental factors, infections, illegal drugs and carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to WGRZ.com, the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta has been consulted, along with Columbia University, as well as the Genesee County Health Department and the New York State Health Department.

Dr Young assured parents that these cases have been seen nationwide and they come and go in individuals.

He said that stress and anxiety can make them worse.

But most parents were left frustrated due to HIPAA (federal health privacy laws) which meant the doctors were limited in telling them what was causing the symptoms.

Because of this and the limited number of cases in the small community, Dr Young said their hands were tied as they cannot comment on children’s diagnosis.

He said some of the students were already showing signs of improvement

Father of one of the students Jim DuPont said he is not satisfied with what the doctors or school administrators have told him.

He said his 17-year-old daughter has missed almost every day of school in the last month.

‘Now she has to be tutored,’ he told WGRZ.com ‘And I worry about her future. She’s only 17. She can’t even drive now.

‘It’s heartbreaking because you know her normal mannerisms.’

He said his daughter is being treated by a neurologist, but still hasn’t received a diagnosis.

‘I’m talking about something that comes on in just a couple of weeks. These kids are totally normal, and the next thing you know their arms are swinging and they can’t control themselves.’

North Korean Super Soldier? Giant man spotted at National Parade

Super Soldier? Giant man spotted at North Korean funeral

A photo of Kim Jong Il’s funeral has been widely publicized, But one image has aroused curiosity for the mysterious figure standing in the back row.

The man appears to be about one third taller than the men to his left and right, with the tops of his legs almost at shoulder height with others standing in the crowd.

It seems probable the tall man is North Korea’s NBA star Ri ‘Michael’ Myung Hun.

The mystery man appears to be close to that height when compared with the other people around him.

The average height of North Koreans is 166cm, 5cm shorter than their South Korean neighbors.

The height difference has been blamed on the poor standard of living in the country.

Or could it be a genetic experiment? North Korea’s sick devotion to their army and no moral guidance could produce any kind of unnatural experiments.

A 9,500-year-old bracelet reveals amazing craftsman’s skill

Bracelet reveals amazing craftsman’s skill from 7500BC (so good it couldn’t be bettered today)

A 9,500-year-old bracelet has been analysed using the very latest computers – and the results show that it is so intricate even today’s craftsmen would struggle to improve it.

Researchers from the Institut Français d’Etudes Anatoliennes in Istanbul and Laboratoire de Tribologie et de Dynamiques des Systèmes studied the bracelet’s surface and its micro-topographic features revealing the astounding technical expertise of the maker.

The bracelet is obsidian – which means it’s made from volcanic glass – and the researchers analysis of it sheds new light on Neolithic societies, which remain highly mysterious.

Discovered in 1995 at the site of As?kl? Höyük in Turkey, it was analysed by software designed to characterise the ‘orange peel effect’ on car bodywork.
his process revealed that the bracelet – 10cm in diameter – was made and polished using highly specialised manufacturing techniques.

In fact, the surface was polished to a degree equal to that of today’s telescope lenses.

The bracelet is the oldest known example of an obsidian item, common during the Neolithic period.

The obsidian craft reached its peak in the seventh and sixth millennia BC with the production of all kinds of ornamental objects, including mirrors and vessels.

Neolithic people – or those leaving in what’s sometimes termed as the New Stone Age – were essentially skilled farmers, who could also turn their hand to the manufacture of various ornaments.
The result of the study is published in the December 2011 issue of Journal of Archaeological Science.

Breaking: Sony develops battery that runs on waste paper

Breaking: Sony develops battery that runs on waste paper

In 2007, Sony demonstrated a Walkman that used a ‘bio battery’ – an organic battery that generates electricity by ‘digesting’ food, just like humans do.

But a new demonstration from the company shows off a much more useful product – battery that can ‘digest’ waste paper and turn it into energy.

The prototype – on show at Eco-Products 2011 in Tokyo, shows how it could be possible to use enzymes to ‘break down’ waste paper into a fuel we can use. The prototype generates enough energy to power a (very) small fan.

A digestive enzyme, cellulase, ‘breaks down’ the cellulose in paper into glucose, a sugar that Sony’s ‘bio batteries’ can use as fuel.

The company’s bio batteries are now so advanced that the company showed off one thin enough to fit inside a greetings card alongside the paper-digesting battery.

It uses fruit juice for fuel, and can generate enough power to play a melody from inside the car.

As it stands, though, the ‘paper-eating’ battery can only generate a very small amount of power.

Voyager probe Reaches Outer Limits of the Solar System

More than three decades after launching, NASA’s workhorse spacecraft is inching closer to leaving the solar system behind.

Currently 11 billion miles away from the sun, Voyager 1 has been exploring the fringes of the solar system since 2004.

On Monday, the spacecraft entered a new region, known as the ‘stagnation zone’ – an area close to the very edge of our solar system, affording the first-ever ‘alien’s eye’ view of our planet.

Nasa’s Voyager spacecraft is reaching the outer limits of the solar system – an area known as the ‘stagnation’ zone

Voyager 1 still has a little way to go before it completely exits the solar system and becomes the first manmade probe to cross into interstellar space, or the vast space between stars.

The spacecraft has enough battery power to last until 2020, but scientists think it will reach interstellar space before that – in a matter of several months to years.

Chief scientist Ed Stone of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory said the timing is unclear because no spacecraft has ever ventured this far.

The Voyager probe has been traveling towards the outer reaches of the solar system since 1977 – it has enough batteries to last until 2020, scientists estimate

For the past year, Voyager 1 used its instruments to explore the new region. It appeared to be the cosmic doldrums where solar winds streaming out from the sun at 1 million mph have dramatically eased

‘The journey continues,’ Stone told a meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco.

For the past year, Voyager 1 used its instruments to explore the new region.

It appeared to be the cosmic doldrums where solar winds streaming out from the sun at 1 million mph have dramatically eased and high-energy particles from outside are seeping in – a sign that Voyager 1 is at the doorstep of interstellar space.

The Voyager spacecraft were built to explore the outer planets of the solar system – and beyond

Scientists expect to see several telltale signs when Voyager 1 finally crosses the boundary including a change in the magnetic field direction and the type of wind. Interstellar wind is slower, colder and denser than solar wind.

Even with certain expectations, Stone warned that the milestone won’t be cut-and-dried.

‘We will be confused when it first happens,’ Stone said.

Voyager 1 and its twin, Voyager 2, were launched in 1977 to tour the outer planets including Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. After their main mission ended, both headed toward interstellar space in opposite directions. Voyager 2 is traveling slower than Voyager 1 and is currently 9 billion away miles from the sun.
